Complete Automation Controls technician, Brian Gradel, recently published and presented a technical paper at the ASNE Intelligent Ship Symposium entitled, “CVN Valve Actuator Network Design Deficiencies.” In the paper, he discusses a currently implemented valve actuator technologies and how they have produced an increase in complexity, maintenance requirements, cost expenditures and degraded system operability.

Brian Gradel has been an employee of Complete Automation Controls for five years and provides direct support to NSWCCD-SSES Code 967, Carrier Network, Navigation and Steering Control systems branch.  He previously supported SSES Code 956, Carrier Machinery Controls branch for eight years as an In Service Engineering Agent for the DDCN systems and their associated profibus networks.

Complete Automation Controls engineer, David Mraz, recently published and presented a technical paper at the ASNE Intelligent Ship Symposium entitled, “Low-Latency Parsing of Network Data using Control Logix PLCs.” In the paper, he discusses a project completed for the U.S. Navy in which an embedded PLC system was developed to increase the efficiency of data transmission within shipboard control systems.

Complete Automation Controls, LLC, (CAC) is pleased to announce its upcoming trade show exhibition at the Intelligent Ship Symposium X presented by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) on May 22-23, 2013. The symposium will be hosted at the University of Pennsylvania Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The Intelligent Ship Symposium X (ISS X) is a biennial naval engineering conference that offers technical presentations, expert panels and networking opportunities to the community of naval engineering professionals.

Additionally, CAC will be publishing and presenting three technical papers for ISS X. This year’s emphasis will be on recent advances in Intelligent Systems technology and the challenges that lie ahead for the next generation of intelligent ships.

Complete Automation Controls is proud to announce the opening of its new headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. CAC will begin operating out of the office located in the Graduate Hospital section of the city. “We are looking forward to begin working in the new space and the opportunities for growth that this represents,” says Bernard Roddy, President of Complete Automation Controls.
